With Facebook owned messaging platform WhatsApp, officially confirming that all iPhones running iOS 7 and older OS versions will no longer be supported as well as Android phones running on versions 2.3.7 and older as from February 2020, it is recommended to know if your device is going to be affected and you can do that by finding what version your OS is.
FOR IOS DEVICES
According to WhatsApp Faq, “WhatsApp for iPhone requires iOS 9 or later. On iOS 8, you can no longer create new accounts or reverify existing accounts. If WhatsApp is currently active on your iOS 8 device, you’ll be able to use it until February 1, 2020.
To determine your iOS version follow these steps below:
Navigate to Settings > General > About. You’ll see the version number to the right of the “Version” entry on the About page.
The latest iOS version is iOS 13
FOR ANDROID DEVICES
Android phones running on versions 2.3.7 and older. To determine your OS on android, do the following:
a. Open your device’s setting
b. Click on About Phone or About Device
c. Tap Android Version to display your version information
