With 2019 over, WhatsApp is bringing to halt support for all Windows phones. This according to the Facebook owned messaging platform is due to the fact that “they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future”. Support for Windows phones officially ended on December 31, 2019.

Seems WhatsApp is going to be declustering a lot of devices as well this year as it is scheduled to discontinue support for some iPhones as well as Android phones after February 1, 2020. The messaging platform has officially confirmed that all iPhones running iOS 7 and older OS versions will no longer support WhatsApp. Furthermore, WhatsApp will also stop working on Android phones running on versions 2.3.7 and older.

It does not mean that WhatsApp will instantly stop working on these devices but the app will not receive any further updates which will eventually end the service. “We will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time,” WhatsApp said.

So, if your device is running on an older version likely to be discontinued, we recommend you update it before February 2020.
